Great product! My current (and previous) usage of ALL APC "BackUps Pro" products has always been in a word - RELIABLE. The new 'slant' style saves space and the matte black finish looks LOTS better than APC's old 'beige' exterior. This unit has 7 plug-in's, plus protection for your data,fax,modem,telco line (from wall) and then off to your comm device. The '500-Pro' also has USB connectivity to your PC/Workstation, and includes power monitoring, reporting,and shutdown SW for Windows 9x,ME,2000.We happen to run several small SOHO type businessesin an older home with a low total watts breaker box, ALUMINUM wiring :<( and too many electrical or electronic devices attached to what are already under-amped circuits. As such, we often experience 'brownouts' or worse, tripped breakers. (Yes .. we will be adding additional wattage and amps soon via a new breaker box). NOT ONCE have we lost data or experienced any power related HW damage.
I sleep easier at night knowing that the APC power supply is doing its stuff with my server.
