Citibank Classic Visa Plus Review

Citibank Classic Visa Plus

Citibank Classic Visa Plus

Everyone will advise you never to finance your business using a credit card, but I was in a situation where no other form of business finance was available.

I knew my credit rating was poor and that I had little chance of getting a bank loan (Did you know that 9 out of 10 business loan applications are rejected!)

I checked to see if I was eligible for any grants or government funding, but there was none available in my area. The only was I could raise the small amount of finance needed was to use a credit card.

As I said before I knew I had a poor credit rating, so I googled for 'Credit Card Poor Credit Rating UK' to see what was available. The choice seemed to be between 2 credit cards, A capital one offering with extortionate interest rates and the Citibank classic visa plus. Knowing that getting declined on an application for either of these cards would probably make my credit score lower, I had to choose carefully.

I went for the Citibank credit card got it, and i was very happy with it, 5 months later I was in a position to apply for a credit card with a lower interest rate and that is what I use today. I've still kept my Citibank credit card though, well there are no annual fees, and you never know I may need that credit some day!

The Citi Classic Plus VISA Card gives great flexibility and reasonable interest rates. If you want to transfer a balance to this your Citibank credit card then you won't have to pay any interest for 6 months. With the typical standard rate at just 13.9% APR the Citi Classic Plus VISA Card offers everything you would expect from a credit card and with a much lower rates than rival credit cards that are available to people with a low credit score.

Your Comments/Opinions

'Citibank have been pretty good to me. Call centre staff are obviously not in the UK but I rarely have to speak to them. Citibank like to send you several cheques with some kind of low interest deal on them every couple of months which is very handy. Citi gave me quite a high credit rating considering my credit history, 4 times the amount that captital one gave me! It really does seem that citibank want to keep their customers so there are lots of opportunities for existing customers to transfer balances 0%. American Express will let me transfer a balance at a lower rate but not 0%, Well done citi! Overall I have been really pleased with citibank, so far I have had no problems with them. '
