Review

With the Atlhon headed as AMDs' falgship processor, the Socket A style Athlons have been revamped to the AMD Sempron.

This model-the 3100, sports the 754 socket and the Paris core. The one major difference between this and the Athlon 64 is the lack of 64 bit extensions. This is a 32BIT ONLY chip but made for the 754 sockets (need to emphasise that). This chip has a clock rate of 1.8Ghz. This may seem minute compared to the 2.6GHz Duron, but on performance rating it is supposed to conquer even the 3.1GHz Intel equivilant.

Temperatures should not be a problem with CPU due to the slow clock rate and heat spreader.

You have to remeber that a PROPER 64 bit CPU only costs a few quid more though!

'I highly recommend this new Apple monitor. I think this is currently one of the most beautful displays out on the market next to the 30\" one and it performs beautifully on both Macs and PCs. I am switching between a PowerMac G5 (ATI 9650) and a PC with an ATI X700 PRO video card via a DVI KVM switch to have the best of both worlds. Another great product from Apple. '

'I agree with Ron, and I have seen a lot of problems reported with this Apple display, but apple seem to have fixed them now.'
