This is the second laptop i have had and for what i paid (somewhere around the £400~), it has been reliable running xp pro, wirless LAN is a nice 56Meg card and then only probem i could find was that from out of the box it could not play DVD's straight away.

'I claimed my household insurance back in September 2005 and got a replacement Fujitsu-Siemens Amilo M1437 with the DVD-RW/CD-RW combi upgrade option. It lasted two days before the screen went! Big thick horizontal lines. Back it went to Fudge... bit of a paperwork problem (proof of purchase, warranty etc), they didn't repair it -- they just sent out another one. This lasted nearly a month of light/ tentative use before the combi drive packed in! Back it went to Fudge... I got the repair job back (they'd wiped the hard drive losing all my stuff and not even bothered to install service pack, drivers etc). The modem no longer works! Fudge now say it's OK, the software must be the problem... and that is not covered in the warranty! I have tried installing the software from the discs supplied, doing clean installs and everything... but it is no use. I am now stuck with nearly a thousand pounds worth of laptop that has a fault worse than the fault I originally claimed for. My insurance premiums are now up because I made a claim, I have spent hours of time and effort as well as ages calling the expensive call centres and support. Don't even get me started on the couriers... This is a bare-bones gripe I'm sparing you all the grizzly daily details here! SUMMARY: CONSIDERING (a) THE NUMBER OF LAPTOPS INVOLVED, (b) THE COSTS INVOLVED (c) THE VARIETY OF COMPLAINTS AND (d) THE LEVEL OF SERVICE I HAVE RECEIVED OVER THE PAST HALF YEAR, I WOULD SUGGEST THAT IF YOU HAVE AN AMILO PRAY THAT NOTHING GOES WRONG, IF YOU DON'T HAVE A FUDGE LAPTOP GO GET A TOSHIBA INSTEAD!'

I bought two V2010's in May 2005, one is perfect with absolutely no problem at all. The other is an absolute dud. I have had endless problems. Can someone tell me how I can get the entire thing replaced. It goes into the service centre and all they ever do is fix and replace. So far, LCD replacement and motherboard replacement. I am being told that the software I have is a dud too. I am SOOO frustrated. Can this laptop not be replaced. olga15@telkomsa.net

if any problems existed within the 3months parameters you could have had a replaced if any machine/s are servicable within the industry ask instore for replacment machine because under the trading goods act the machine you have does not satify the purpose for which it was intended ?

I BOUGHT ONE AND AFTER 14 MONTHS THE BACK LIGHT WENT, WHERE IS THE BACKLIGHT, BEHIND THE SCREEN OR IN THE BASE. I WILL TRY AND REPAIR IT MYSELF. WAS QUOTED £180.00.
