GrandStream Budgetone 102 Review

GrandStream Budgetone 102

Budget VoIP Handset

The Grandstream BudgeTone 102 is one of the most cheapest UK Voip phones that you can get in the UK. It is a SIP based VoIP phone with an LCD display for caller ID and menu navigation. The grandstream 102 also has a speaker phone facility and you can do direct IP address dialling.

The Grandstream Budgetone 102 VoIP phone plugs directly into your router or switch using a cat 5 cable. After just installing a wireless network and removing all the cat 5 from the office I was relluctant to have a 10 m cat 5 cable trailing across the office floor, but i couldnt justify the price of a wireless voip phone.

The Grandstream Budgetone is a large business like phone, but when you pick it up you realise it's very light and theres not much in it. There is an an integrated switch so that you can plug your pc directly into the phone and you will only need one cable to the router.

When making a Voip call you cant hear your voice like you can when your using a normal phone, you do get used to it after a few calls, but it's a bit weird at first.

Im trying to convice myself that I like the grandstream, but having read some reviews of other Voip phones, I wish i'd spent a bit more money on a higher spec phone.

Grandstream GXP-2000 IP Phone is the replacement for the 102, you can get them in the UK for about £80 my brother has one and it seems a better phone that the 102, the display is much clearer.

I think you need to spend £200+ to get a decent voip phone. Anything less and you're just buying a toy.
