With an increasingly global corporate life where business is being carried out in more places around the world than ever before, the need to continually communicate is becoming paramount. In response to this need, Inmarsat has developed the Regional BGAN solution –a lightweight notebook-sized satellite IP modem providing a high-speed data service via satellite. Users simply connect the modem to their PC or PDA (via the Bluetooth or Ethernet interfaces),point the antenna in the direction of the satellite and then it ’s business as usual. It doesn’t matter where the user is within the coverage area be it in Europe or provincial northern Africa. With Regional BGAN, connection to the Internet, accessing corporate LANs or exchanging information with other offices,is just as easy as though the user were sitting at their normal office desktop.
