Sony Vaio B1VP Centrino Review

Sony Vaio B1VP Centrino

Sony Vaio B1VP Centrino 1.6GHz 40GB 512MB

I must say I did not expect much from Sony at this price but I was pleasantly surprised when I opened the box. The unit is amazingly slim and oh so light! I just latched the battery bar into the back and I was away.
The centrino processor works like a dream (doesnt feel as slow as a 1.6) and the screen is typical of Sony - bright and crisp. It is certainly not flimsy.
The inputs and outputs are good but I would prefer another two USB ports and s video out. Pleased to see the firewire though. The 512Mb RAM is another bonus - keeps everything running smoothly.

Buy this and you will not regret it. People will stare at that inset chrome VAIO sign on the lid and the sleek design - plus what a great bargain sub-£1000.
Based on the award-winning Z1 design concept, the new B-Series line provides feature-packed mobility in a stylish chassis that weighs just about 5 pounds. Integrated wireless technology and an onboard optical drive make this notebook the perfect portable co-worker whether you work in an office, at home or on the road.
The B-series incorporates all of the key features most commonly requested by business users in addition to offering the core functionality that distinguishes VAIO notebook PCs. The PC's generous 14-inch display and full-sized keyboard match market demands for work PCs that are highly mobile without sacrificing comfort. And Sony's Smart Display Sensor takes the technical worry out of presentations by automatically adjusting the notebook's display resolution to any compatible projector or external display.

This Vaio is a well built bit of kit - battery life is what you should expect from a Centrino, and everthing else is what you should expect form Sony. The only complaint would be the cut-down version of Xp-Pro which wouldn\'t allow me to remotely access my other computer on my home network (easily fixed by installing the full version). This being my first foray into the world of laptops and wireless communication, I have little to compare with aside from the machines I have used at work, but this seems like a solid unit, with a decent screen a whole 512MB of RAM and a nice feel. Buy a B1VP you won't be disappointed.

The Vaio B1VP Centrino battery life seems amazing I managed to play 3.5 hours of DVD on it. I've only had the sony for a few days and, but so far i'm very impressed.
