The Telit dual mode Sat 550 is a high-tech mobile satellite terminal as user friendly as a standard mobile phone. The Sat 550 is also a GSM mobile phone offering the most advanced features of a Phase II phone. Sat 550 phone works through the Globalstar satellite network: a constellation of 48 LEO (Low Earth Orbit) satellites offering a virtually global coverage. By using special CDMA (Code Division Multiple Access) transmission, the dual mode terminal interacts with up to three satellites simultaneously: the risk of dropped calls is very close to zero.
