The Aspire 5002lm includes a dvdrw drive and 512mb DDR ram. Looks pretty good value for a 64bit machine.

I have had this laptop for a good few weeks now and can report no problems and great satisfaction.
The laptop comes with a good bundle including XP Home, which comes pre-installed and recovery discs to return the laptop to its factory setup should any problems arise. I chose to reformat the hard drive to one NTFS partition (it ships in 2 ~30gb FAT32 partitions) and install a copy of XP Pro. This went without incident and although XP didn't find all the drivers for the hardware (and no driver discs supplied due to OS being pre-installed) the Acer website contains all the necessary drivers in a well presented website. Word on the grapevine is that XP x64 runs fine on this laptop and 64-bit drivers are available (perhaps with exception of the modem).
Sadly there is no wireless network capability on the Aspire 5002LM AMD Turion, so you will need to use a wireless PCMIA card use wireless networks.
The onboard sound and video work well, the sound has all the latest standards and the video will run all that a laptop of this spec should be required to do (shares 32/64/128mb of ram). For the latest games a dedicated graphics card is required but no serious gamer uses a laptop for games.
The ram in the Aspire 5002LM AMD Turion will upgrade to 2gb.
In most respects the Aspire 5002LM AMD Turion is a nice powerful machine, and very good value.
