The Casio Exilim EX S500 us fantastic, the image on this website just doesn't do it justice. Until you hold it in your hand, you can't appreciate how thin it is.
Although it doesn't have a viewfinder, the large LCD screen on the back more than makes up for this.
The different preset shooting modes make light work of taking pictures in different light levels. The camera excels during bright daylight, and produces great, sharp images even at night.
One of the greatest things about this camera is the Movie mode. On my last Casio Exlim model, the video was rather crude, with choppy frame rates and only lasted 30 seconds. Not with this model: the camera will keep recording until your memory card fills up (tip: buy a 1gb card!!). The frame rate is excellent, and the video quality (MPEG2) is truly awesome. I played it back fullscreen on a 28" LCD tv and it blew me away.
The supplied dock lets you charge, and connect via usb 2.0 (usb 1.1. is supported, but will be much slower). Also, there's an AV output and a supplied AV cable to hook it up to your TV. This makes watching slideshows and videos easy. There are also transition effects for the slideshow mode.
A calender and world time and alarm round off this fantastic little model. How they crammed a 3x optical lens into the slim body beats me.
