The BT Paperjet 60 is a fax machine with built in answerphone and can be used as a basic A4 photocopier.
FEATURES
This machine offers good quality inkjet printing with a 40 sheet feeder. If you run out of paper while receiving a fax, up to 21 pages will be stored in the momory and automatically printed when new paper is added. This is very useful if you have a few days off!
Can also be used to make single or multiple copies of documents and has enlarge and reduce features on the copying function. There are one touch and speed dial memory options on the telephone.
Comes with a starter print cartridge that lasted us approx 300 pages of faxes. The replacement cartridges from BT are very expensive, but this fax machine is identical to an Olivetti version which uses the same print cartridges. The Olivetti cartridges are a lot cheaper than the BT ones (the cartridge to order is the one that fits Olivetti JP 150 WS, JP 170/S/C, JP-190-192, JP 250-270, JP350S/WS, JP360-370, JP450-470 and OFX serie machines).
You can easily set the machine to work like a normal telephone, an answering machine, a fax/phone, or a fax/answerphone.
RELIABILTY
Call answering is excellent and the machine easily distinguishes faxes and phone calls. Incoming faxes from manual start fax machines still have to be dealt with by the operator, but it is a simple case of pressing the start button. The great feature is the integrated answerphone. Before we owned this machine, we had lots of problems finding a fax machine and answerphone that worked together.
PROBLEMS
The only gripe I have is the paper handling. Misfeeds happen constantly, both when sending and recieving faxes. However, the fax machines memory means that faxes are not lost when misfeeds occur so you get another chance to print them out! When sending faxes, the machine often misfeeds on the 2nd or 3rd sheet then cuts out so that redialling is necessary.
INSTRUCTION MANUAL
A 62-page instruction manual is included which has lots of easy to understand explanations and plenty of pictures.
OVERALL
A good allrounder and good value for money.
