The Dell Inspirion Mini 12 is a slightly larger verson of the Mini 9, with a rounded lid, and an identical glossy black coating (a white version of Dell Inspirion Mini 12 will also be available) which is prone to fingerprints.

The Dell Inspirion Mini 12 comes with a black keyboard, stylish silver palm rest and screen bezel.

The Dell Inspirion Mini 12 sports a 12-inch, 1280 x 800-pixel resolution glossy screen makes all the difference to the netbook experience, Personally I prefer this Dell screen to the screens used in any of the other netbooks in this class.

To sum up the Inspiron Mini 12 certainly comes with a larger screen than the current crop of netbooks, and it is not signigicantly heavier than its rivals.

Battery life is long due to the six-cell battery. But I am not sure that this machine is powerful enought to run Vista, I would like to see it running Ubuntu.

The Dell Inspiron Mini 12 certainly breaks new ground by offering a bigger screen than any other netbook without adding much weight, and you’ll get very good endurance with the six-cell battery. But while we applaud Dell’s efforts to make Vista easier to use with its flashy dock, the Mini 12 doesn’t have the right hardware to handle this OS. Plus, the 12-inch screen costs a premium; its price of $654 is about $150 more than the 10-inch Samsung NC10 , which offers better performance, a bigger hard drive, and longer battery life. We suggest that buyers hold off until next month when Dell offers the Mini 12 with Windows XP or its customized Ubuntu Linux operating system.
