I signed up for ekmPowershop in October 2005 after doing lots of research into other systems. Initally i was going to get a web designer to build me a ecommerce system which was powered by osCommerce but this seemed way to complicated so i looked around and found ekm. On signing up your online shop is setup immediatly and so within a few mins of entering my payment details I was online creating my new shop. The user interface has been updated several times since i started using the system which is one of the major benefits of this kind of "online system" as they are always working on it adding new upgrades and features and it makes it much easier than having to download upgrades and even pay for them which you need to do with other solutions. Adding products is childs play, although if your adding loads it gets very boring and time consuming, but they do offer a bulk upload system through csv files but i have not really used this and so cannot comment. To make your shop look good you really need to create your own custom design as the templates are pretty limited (although again they do seem to add new ones). At first i created mine using Frontpage and it was fine but during summer last year we decided to have the template professionally designed by ekms own design team and we have seen a impact on our monthly sales. Whenever i have had a problem or question their support is spot on. Emails are usually answered within 2 hours and telephone support is superb, you get to speak to real people who know what they are talking about... no offshore call center!
