'I waited over 2 weeks for my oneandone root server to be set up and i'm not impressed! I asked oneandone not to install plesk and i assumed that this had caused the delay, but apparently not, they had installed plesk 7.5! The server seems fast enough, it's just that removing all the plesk stuff is going to take ages. I would ask oneandone to do it but i feel this is just going to delay the project further, so from here on in i'll be looking after this box on my own. I use a lot of dedicated server companies and for this project the client insisted on using oneandone. There are better dedicated hosting companies, and some of them are cheaper than oneandone.'

'I'm not at all impressed with 1and1.co.uk there telephone support staff are ignorant and rude. They seem to have little knowledge of the systems that they are supporting, and the solution to all problems seem to be to upgrade to a better package. I recently upgraded from the 1and1 business package to the root server. The business package wasnt capable of sustaining the volume of Mysql queries that my site was generating. I didn't think that the Mysql load was excessive and I suspect this is just a way of 1and1 generating some extra £££. When one and one told me that I had to upgrade to a dedicated server I considered moving to an alternative provider, but to avoid hassle and downtime I decided to transfer to a 1and1 root server. What a mistake! One and one agreed to transfer my site and database to the server and transfer the domain to point to the new IP address. All they did was to transfer the domain name, resulting in several hours of downtime as I tried to retrieve the files from the business package that I could no longer log in to. '
