thames credit sent my mother a letter yesterday trying to claim a debt for a company that went bankrupt in 2003, altho my mother hadnt had any contact from the company since 1995. i rang them and told them that the debt is statute barred and they CANNOT pursue it. they said that jus means they cant take her to court, i also quoted under section 40 of the administration of justice act 1970. so I reccommend FIGHT THEM. REPORT THEM to OFT, FSA AND your local Trading standards.

If these chimpanzes come to your door call the police telling them that there is two strangers at your door scaring you! They have no right to come to anybodies door unloess you have invited them or there is a tstated purpose and they have to leave if you tell them to. The operate yousing tactics of fear and manupulation - Report them to the OFT - Under section 40 of the admin of justice act and you local trading standards

I used to work for Thames Credit Limited and was a negotiator there. Yes thats right, when you called in and spoke to one of the negotiators, it could have been me! I hated every second of that job and left as soon as i possibly could. All the negotiators are motivated by targets, meaning the more money they get out of you, the more money goes in their pocket. The whole ethos of the company is to get as much money out of you for as little fuss as possible. Please take my word for it, not all the people that work there are bad!! Just doing a job..but a lot of them are sarcastic, money hungry idiots. Do everything you can to get a massive discount as i know first hand that debts are bought for almost nothing, and sold for as much as they can get. If possible, make a monthly deal. But above all, DO NOT PAY A SINGLE PENNY unless you have seen the original documentation. Request immediately the original application form. If your account is over 6years old from the DEFAULT DATE, then your account is stat barred, and they cant do anything about it. They can try to collect, but CANNOT take you to court, send bailiffs..all they can do is press redial or send out pathetic little letters. Thames Credit Limited is a money hungry, petty, stuck up organisation, and whilst they believe they have some power over you, they're just a bunch of penguins in suits sitting on the phone all day. Its a dull existence, and they hate being there. Its debt collection!! What a pathetic job! SOOOOOO glad im out of there and moving onto better things.

Thames Credit have the blood of Beryl Brazier crying out against them the scumbags are debt collection agencies like TC that dont adhere to the OFT guidelines on debt collection "It is unfair to pursue a statute barred debt" "It is unfair to pursue a statute barred debt when the debtor has confirmed they will not pay" Section 40 of the administration of Justice Act makes harrasement a crminial offence. I suggest you report TC to every regulatory bbody under the sun - The Trading Standards, OFT, FSA Information Commissioner, Trade Asscociation. Thames Credit are responsible for the death of BERYL BRAZIER- TC ARE SCUM

Thames credit limited only chase debt that has been sold to them by credit companies (barclays, hfc bank etc), the debt would not be with them had you paid the previous company. in relation to stat barred accts, you scum bags have moved house and not paid your debts that is why accts get stat barred as companies like tcl have to chase you

My daughter has had 2 letters from Thames Credit Limited, requesting £485.82 relating to an alleged Top Shop debt. Her name was spelt incorrectly in the letter. My daughter had an account with Top Shop 8 years ago, which, as far as she is concerned, has no unpaid amounts on it. She contacted Thames Credit Limited by telephone and during the call was told to 'make a payment now, or else'. No documentation relating to the alleged debt has been supplied by Thames Credit

This company is a very unprofessional bunch of cowboys that like to chase time barred debt they like to pray on the elderley and vulnerable in the hope that gullable individuals who dont know the law will make quick payments over the phone. Complain to the OFT about them- There is currently a case that has gone through parliament Beryl Brazier who committed suicide on the back of letters sent by Thames Credit hopfuly these criminals will have there liscense revoked for breach of OFT guidelines on debt collection.

I have received two letters from Thames Credit Limited, saying I owe over £200 for an 'agreemwent' - they give a number, but they refuse to tell me what it is for. I told them I've never had a credit card, that I've never bouight anything on credit. Then they sent me a second letter, again telling me I owe this money - but again refdusing to say what it is for. This company is a total sham.

The details are not on the thamescredit.co.uk website, I have not been able to find any information on the data protection act on there site but I have made a complaint to the information commisioner about the actions of Thames Credit Limited. If anybody receives a letter telling them that they owe money that they do not and the letter contains the details of an account they should download a complaints form from this page http://www.ico.gov.uk/complaints/data_protection.aspx I suggest that you record all phone conversations with thames credit (notify them that you are doing this at the beginning of the call), but ideally you should ask for them to correspond with you via post. Thames Credit can be contacted at the addresses below: AKTIV KAPITAL (UK) LIMITED 5-7 GROSVENOR COURT AKTI 7 FOREGATE STREET CHESTER CHESHIRE CH1 1HG Company No. 04267803 THAMES CREDIT LIMITED 6TH FLOOR ALDWYCH HOUSE 81 ALDWYCH LONDON WC2B 4RP Company No. 03749604

Thames credit limited have been sending letters to several people who have the same name as me with details of an overdraft despute that I have with my bank. I would recommend avoiding this company at all costs. Thames credit limited do not seem to be registered with the data protection people either.
