I just ordered this notebook and , while I am excited to hear all the good things about it, I am very disappointed in Dell themselves. They are telling me that this notebook will take a whole MONTH to manufacture. I find this to be totally unacceptable, but I will plug along on my desktop until I get it.

It was the 'ethical policies' stuff that swung it for me; I've had business bank accounts from all the major UK banks in the past and they're all as bad as each other! In my opinion they should scrap the free banking completely and give us an honest list of charges.

It might be a nice notebook but I can't tell you since I can't get my hands on one. I ordered one on March 8th and it was supposed to ship on the 23. Since then Dell advised me that it has been delayed and will ship on the 20th of April. After calling Dell four different times and speaking with four different people I have four conflicting stories about the ship date. It seems Dell doesn't have a clue about what is going on either. Since I live in one of the states that Dell collects sales tax from I should have gone to best buys and gotten an amd based laptop. Perhaps if people started doing this Dell would get their finger out.

This software recorder is a great little tool. It is the one application that I have bought over the years that I really get some really use out of. It was less than half the price of the competition (we tried others) and it was better without a doubt. Very simple to install and very reliable. We are using several of them now in various departments. (Telephone Research) One or two obscure telephones we were using caused problems, so we changed them for more standard phones and now we record trouble free, crystal clear conversations that we turn into reports using the free 'playback for typists' software provided on the same disk. Well done CopyCall - nothing else quite like avaible anywhere. 10/10

i got a acer aspire 1502lmi very pleased untill the screen backlight broke after only 3 weeks, took 4 weeks to repair, the problem is acer have useless customer service. as for the laptop it played unreal2004 demo at full settings very fast. farcry demo at xga resolution medium settings playable as well. a nice laptop shame about acers service.

I definatly want one of these notebooks. Work will be sorting a new one out soon and luckily i do get a decision and the normal price to spend comes to around £1000 so this fits nicely into the budget. I cant believe how cheap it is. If possible i might try and get a few extra batterys for this as i think they would be used!!!

Thanks for this info. I was wondering whether you could tell your experience installing Linux on this machine. Do the sleep modes work (S3 or S4)? I guess the Ati card would be no problem.(?) Pat
