Apple eMac G4 Review
Apple eMac G4
Apple eMac G4
I've just got my mum an eMac G4 and she loves it. The eMac was designed for the educational market, expansion is limited to a bit of extra memory and an airport extreme card, but I reckon this machine will keep my mum happy for a good few years.I know I could have got a PC much cheaper, but I also know I'll end up keeping this machine running and virus free, and this desktop mac will hopefully eliminate the virus problem.
The emac that I chose has an integral DVD burner and it combines the iMac's all-in-one design with a 17-inch display, a relatively low entry price, adequate speed (1GHz), and ease of use.
The Apple eMac came with Mac OS X Jaguar preinstalled, including the digital media suite iLife, plus the calendar application iCal; iSync for syncing up Palm OS devices and mobile phones; Quicken 2003 and Word Book 2003; and the AppleWorks office suite.
I'm a PC user myself, but after spending a few more hours with OS X on the eMac, I've decided to upgrade to and Apple Powerbook, but I think I'm going to wait until its available with a G5 processor.
