Sony Vaio A115B Notebook Centrino 1.5GHz Review

Sony Vaio A115B Notebook Centrino 1.5GHz
I have been nothing but impressed with the Sony Vaio A115B: It is high-performance, comes with everything one could want (bar Bluetooth connectivity, I suppose): On-board ethernet, Centrino 802.11b/g wireless, USB 2.0, IEEE1394, a good quality battery, an excellent quality keyboard and unbeatable screen. The 15" LCD screen on this laptop is the best laptop screen I've ever used and its quality exceeds that of a Sony LCD panel monitor I use for my desktop system. The screen's clarity is brilliant and the automatic brightness-adjustment feature (which makes the screen automatically easier to view in varying light conditions) works well.
The keyboard is high-quality and a pleasure to use, unlike those on many laptops.
System performance is excellent with the 1.5GHz Centrino and ATI Radeon 9200 with 64MB RAM.
Overall the system is incredibly well-designed and looks beautiful and after just a short amount of use it's not difficult to see why this laptop is being touted as part of a range of 'desktop replacements' because undoubtedly the lovely finishing touches (primarily the wonderful screen and tactile keyboard) make using this laptop a pleasure and when combined with the high-performance leave one with little excuse to use a desktop system.
You can get the Sony Vaio A115B onlinr for an amazing price and I highly recommend it. I'm using this laptop with Gentoo Linux and its performance is wonderful. Sony Vaio laptops are well-served by Linux projects making the Vaio function keys and brightness facilities available to Linux users.
