HSBC Internet Business Banking Review
HSBC Internet Business Banking
HSBC Internet Business Banking
HSBC was named Best Computer Banking Provider at the Business Moneyfacts Awards 2003 and this influenced our decision to go with them for a business bank account.Inially setting up access to our account was complicated, and im not sure this was entirely neccessary for security reasons but once we'd got everything set up accessing the business account was straightforward.
Once we had set everything up Business Internet Banking proved quick and easy to use. In addition to providing us with 'real-time' balance information on your accounts, it allows us to view individual transaction details, make immediate transfers between accounts and make payments. This has been very useful to us when accepting payments by BACS transfer, we can quickly see when an invoice has been payed.
There are options to download transaction details to Quicken, Microsoft Money or as a CSV spreadsheets. Couldn't find any information on importing into Sage Line 50, but I think we can probably import the CSV spreadsheet.
Access to Business Internet Banking is provided free of chargeand is available to all HSBC Bank business customers with a UK mainland current or savings account. Only sterling accounts can be displayed.
Online security is obviously a priority and HSBC have used a range of security measures to help protect the integrity of accounts and business banking information. These measures include an automatic log-off after a period of inactivity, encryption (all transactions between HSBC Bank and your computer and vice versa, are scrambled using Secure Sockets Layer with 128-bit encryption), and the use of digital certificates.
All in all we're very happy with HSBC, much better than the bank we previously held our business account with.
